It is interesting that almost all Ragusian chronicles of the 17th century mention Albanians ( Arbers) as members of citizenship respectively nobility of Ragusa or in relation with it, during all centuries of the Middle Ages. How reliable are the mentioned chronicles has been a matter of debate up to today.
Nobility and citizenship of Ragusa during Middle Ages was gradually created by native-autochthonous population as well as by a powerful emigration that came especially from Gulf of Kotor (Bocche di Cattaro, Boka Kotorska), Italy, Bosnia, Croatia, Albania (Arbëria), and a minor emigration from another Balkan country or Western Europe!
